Call for Papers

This workshop will accept submissions and presentations including but not limited to the themes listed below:

• Affective human-robot interaction

• Robots and intelligent agents for healthcare applications

• Affective systems for mental and physical well-being

• Social robotics

• Assistive robotics

• Cognitive robotics

• Multimodal emotion recognition

• Emotion recognition in the wild

• Mental and physical rehabilitation assistive robots

• Affect and personality recognition

• Emotion-aware Human–Robot Interaction

• Verbal and nonverbal emotional behaviour generation for robots and intelligent agents

• Emotion in Human-robot trust

• Affective and social intelligence in healthcare and elderly care robot

• Artificial emotions in robots and intelligent agents

• Personalised and adaptive robots

• Ethical considerations of affective systems for healthcare

• Ethical considerations of social robots

Our workshop will accept two types of submission:

• full papers (6 pages + up to 2 pages of references), which will be presented as oral presentations at the workshop

• short papers (up to 4 pages including references), which will be presented as posters at the workshop

Submissions will be reviewed in a single-blind manner, and each submission will receive 2 to 3 reviews. 

Accepted papers will be published and indexed on IEEExplore in a separate proceeding (volume) that includes the doctoral consortium, demos and workshops of ACII 2022. 

We are also in contact with several journals, namely IJSR (International Journal of Social Robotics), Interaction Study, and IEEE Transactions on Cognitive and Developmental Systems, regarding publishing extended version of submissions accepted to our workshop as a special issue at one of these journals. 

Authors should format their papers using the IEEE Template for Computer Society Conferences, similar to the ACII 2021 main conference submission guidelines (overleaf and Word templates).
